An adorable cockapoo has uncovered a number of hidden gems across the UK while travelling across the country with her owners.

Two-year-old, Poppy, from Cheltenham, Cotswolds, has a number of idyllic snaps thanks to her owners, Cara Whitehouse, 28 and her partner Andy Jarvis, 30.

The trio have travelled across the country for their Instagram-worthy photographs, including road trips around the Scottish Highlands, sunbathing on Cornish beaches and hiking in the Lake District.

Cara, a marketing manager, said: “Poppy is the perfect travel companion, she adapts really well to her surroundings.

“She is always full of energy and we’ll always find her leading the way up hills and mountains and along coastal paths during our day long hikes.

“Andy and I have always loved to travel and before Poppy, we would fly around Europe but now we have an additional family member, and we wouldn’t want her to miss out.

“We didn’t realise the UK had so many beautiful places on our doorstep, so we’re always trying to discover new places to visit.

“Our first trip was in Yorkshire when she was six months old, we wanted to make sure she was big enough to hike and was toilet trained first.

“She’s such a great traveller and just sleeps for entire car journeys to reserve her energy ready for a big weekend.
“She has her own travelling bag and when she sees us packing that with her lead and things for a trip, she gets super excited wagging her tail like crazy.

“Poppy has helped us appreciate the UK; we didn’t realise how beautiful it really is.”

The trio have been to the Peak district, Devon, Norfolk, Dorset and many more places, some of which were courtesy of Canine Cottages.

Poppy was selected to be a canine critic last year in 2018 – in the last 12 months she has been on 15 trips around the UK.

Cara adds: “I have always owned dogs growing up, but rarely took any pictures of them which is why it is so important for me to capture every all of our best moments with Poppy.

“It’s so rewarding seeing her enjoying herself in so many different places, no matter the weather she still loves every second.

“She just loves exploring, whether it’s running on the beaches or eating snow on a mountain in the Lake district.

“We rarely go away without her as it just doesn’t feel the same, she is our bundle of joy and I love making memories with her and Andy.”
