An Indonesian farmer is baffled after one of its sow gave birth to a ‘one-eyed’ piglet.
The male piglet is one of the 13 broods born to Novli Rumondor’s pig at his home in Minahasa, North Sulawesi.
The strange looking animal is believed to be suffering from a congenital condition called holoprosencephalyor more commonly as cyclopes syndrome.
Novli said: “I feel both strange and happy. I think the piglet is a blessing.
“I have been a pig breeder for years but this is the first time I have found this oddity.
“Its mother gave birth to 13 piglets at the pen in the house. When I went to see the babies, I found this strange looking piglet.
“Both his mother and him are stable.
“I am taking care of it. I hope it continues to live and grow up an adult.
The piglet’s unusual appearance has created a buzz in the small village where a horde of people is flocking to Novli’s home to catch a glimpse of it.
Novli said: “Locals are surprised by his strange appearance. They are coming to see him.
“This is the first time such an animal is born here.”
