Lucky boat passengers were greeted with a rare sight when a playful minke whale breached not once, but four times off the Scottish coast.
Ruaraidh Kieran was only five minutes away from Elgol pier on the Isle of Skye when the group on the Misty Isle Boat Trips were greeted with a special sight.
As their tour powered through the sea around 6pm on June 8, a minke whale suddenly breached the water in front of them.
As if that wasn’t enough to stun the passengers, the mammoth mammal proceeded to do it three more times.
Ruaraidh said: “I couldn’t believe what we were seeing.
“I was more excited and shocked than the tourists on the tour as I know who rare it is to see this
“I used to be a fisherman off Elgol for years but never saw anything like this before.
“It’s the first time I have even heard of it happening, let alone seeing it.
“In total I think it breached about 10-15 times, even after I stopped filming.”
