A brave honey badger rescued its baby by chasing off a hungry leopard.
Guide Sahara Wolfson, 28, captured the stand-off whilst on safari in Sabi Sands Game Reserve, South Africa.
Sahara noticed the leopard after being flagged to it by another guide but didn’t see the young honey badger in the big cat’s gaze.
The leopard stalked closer until the unsuspecting mustelidae noticed him, which is when the big cat suddenly pounced on the small badger.
Sahara then noticed the honey badgers mother running at full speed towards the leopard to protect her young.
Scared by the sudden appearance the big cat jumped off the young badger and ran away.
Sahara said: “It was easily the sighting of a lifetime, I cannot imagine having another opportunity like this.
“Leopards don’t normally go for honey badgers due to their fierce temperament and savage fighting ability.
“The reason this Leopard attempted it was because of her young age and lack of experience.
“She will have been taught a lesson she won’t soon forget.”
