This is the adorable moment a mum is knocked to the floor in shock on her birthday, as her daughter pays a surprise visit after more than a year apart.
Tightly wrapped and topped by a fetching red ribbon, a very special birthday delivery awaits Mrs. Kukusilina on her front door step, in Galway, Ireland, on March 17.
Opening the door, Mrs. Kukusilina can’t believe her eyes when she peers out to see the huge illuminous packaging awaiting her on the floor.
As her daughter Aelita calls out ‘happy birthday’, the contents of the box begin to move, then suddenly the flaps part to reveal her other daughter, Kitija, whom she hasn’t seen for over a year.
Overwhelmed by emotion, the mother of two, originally from Latvia, clasps both hands over her face and collapses onto the hallway floor, crying profusely into her palms.
Aelita said: “Kitija moved back to Latvia in 2016, and they haven’t seen each other in person since, you can really see how much it meant to my mum.
“My sister told me in December she was thinking of surprising mum on her birthday, so I had to keep it completely quiet for nearly four months.
“I thought we should make a big thing of it, so I bought a box and decorated it in anticipation of her arrival.
“It really payed off, I thought she was going to have a heart attack or something.”
Showered with hugs and kisses from her presumed absent daughter, this birthday was certainly one Mrs. Kukusilina will remember for a long time.
Kitija, said: “I was so nervous waiting in the box, wondering what her reaction would be.
“Needless to say, it was very emotional, in fact she was so shocked she couldn’t even speak.
“It was so nice to be back together as a family, I’ll be sure to not leave it so long next time.”
