A singer wowed a cinema audience with an impromptu rendition of Queen’s ‘I Want To Break Free’ after technical issues during a Bohemian Rhapsody screening.
Musician Gonzalo Amaral, 26, is a huge Queen fan and went to the cinema with his family in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to watch the new flick on Sunday [November 11].
The young man was with his grandparents, two sisters and girlfriend when in the middle of the film there was a technical issue and the screen went blank – causing the viewers to get distressed.
Gonzalo said: “In the middle of the movie something happened and the subtitles got cut but the movie kept going.
“The people at the cinema started yelling and then the image got cut completely.
“We were waiting for it to start again and suddenly the people started doing the tune of ‘We Will Rock You’ – then my sister told me ‘why don’t you sing?’
“I am a big fan of Queen, Freddie was unique so I thought ‘why not?’
“If I can make someone smile, why not?
“I started singing ‘We Will Rock You’ and when I finished that it was crazy, people were applauding and asking for more.
“That’s when I sang ‘I Want To Break Free’ – people were singing along and it was great.
“It was an amazing moment, as a musician I felt great.
“The whole thing didn’t last more than ten minutes, as the movie then started again.”
