This clumsy baby elephant had an EL of a fall after faceplanting the floor.
David Serradilla Galindo, 44, photographed the hilarious sequence as the naughty calf tried to get the attention of his peers before eventually slipping and falling and then running embarrassed to his mum.
David, from Sevilla, Spain, captured the moment while on at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
He said: “I felt incredibly happy when I captured the pictures because I was aware that I had experienced a magical and unique moment that few people have seen or felt.
“Our usual South African guides, who have 50 years of experience safaris, have never seen it – capturing a complex human behaviour in a young elephant.
“Even though I see it or feel it when I go on safari, it is really difficult to transmit this concept in images.
“This young elephant was behaving like a mischievous child.
“He was very agitated, ran rampantly bothering other elephants with their careers and games, splashing others with water and mud – a real hooligan who tried to get the attention of the group.
“Suddenly he slipped and fell and he was embarrassed and aware of the ridicule he faced.
“He got up quickly looking for his mother, making a sound with the trunk as if saying ‘mummy! Someone has left the ground slippery, I have fallen and I have hurt myself’.
“I think even the adult elephants laughed at him.”
