This is the hilarious moment a poor milkman on the rounds to find new customers gets roped into a homeowner’s prank about his wife’s ‘affair’ – and is too polite to call his bluff.
Ross Nicholl, 29, decided to play a prank on the unsuspecting salesman who was going door-to-door offering dairy delivery service last week [Tuesday 28th March], which was caught in the hidden doorbell camera.
Off the cuff, the dad-of-two claimed he didn’t want the service because of a ‘bad experience’ with a milkman in which his wife had gotten pregnant – and that the postman was next on his list.
The painfully-awkward footage shows the milkman struggle for words before politely suggesting it probably ‘won’t be something you want to take up then, I imagine?’ and apologising for bothering him.
Ross, from Gloucester, said: “I was in a bit of a jokey mood and I saw that the milkman was cold calling and I waited for him to ring the doorbell.
“I’m a bit of a prankster. It wasn’t something that I planned. I had no idea I was going to do it. It was just a spur of the moment thing.
“I wasn’t embarrassed at all when I did it but I think it caught him off guard. He took it quite well to be fair but he did seem quite confused.
“It was just light-hearted. I think he probably knew I was taking the mickey. He looked like he was trying not to laugh.”
The dad-of-two was with his wife, Hayley Nicholl, 27, and parents at the time of the prank who he says found it just as funny as him.
Ross said: “What made it more hilarious was that my wife was there when it happened. She couldn’t believe that I said it but she wasn’t mad at me for it.
“She saw the funny side of it. She knows what I’m like.
“My family found it hilarious. They’ve got a similar sense of humour as me.
“I showed it to my friends and family and they all think it’s hilarious. Everyone keeps telling me I should put my videos on a YouTube channel.
“It’s just a bit of fun. I do things like this all of the time.”
In the video, the milkman can be seen politely asking for support for rebuilding a service before Ross responds with the prank.
Ross said: “I’ve had a really bad experience with milkmen, my wife got pregnant by one.”
The milkman said: “Oh right, yeah, well that’s the worries… I take… Well, it won’t be something you want to take up then, I imagine then?”
Ross said: “No, absolutely not. The postman’s next on my list.”
The milkman said: “Oh right, no problem, I’ll leave you in peace then, alright?”
