A playful young gorilla cheekily surprises her sister by throwing sawdust in her face in these adorable shots.
Juvenile gorilla Obi, three, was caught on camera playing the sneaking prank on younger sister Andi, two, at Zoo Knoxville Tennesse in last month.
High school teacher Kelly Kearse, from Tennessee, photographed the heart-warming exchange between the siblings.
In other snaps, Obi can be seen joyfully tossing the sawdust over her head.
Kelly, who visits the zoo every two weeks, said: “Sawdust was provided to the gorilla family as part of their enrichment.
“I watched as one of the three-year-olds, Obi, played with the sawdust by herself before surprising her sister, Andi, with some sawdust to the face.
“Obi was playing joyfully in the sawdust – one of my favourite photos was the one where she tossed it over her head.
“I also loved capturing the sneak attack – it was wildly fun to watch.
“Zoo Knoxville has eight gorillas in the troop, including two three-year-olds and one two-year-old, Andi.”
