A desperate search of a lake is underway after a man was seen deliberately walking into the water.
Police were called to Norman Chamberlain Park in Shard End, Birmingham, at 4.50pm today [TUES] after a member of the public reported seeing the man enter the lake.
West Midlands Police, firefighters, ambulance paramedics and a helicopter are all currently at the scene.
Underwater searches by specially-trained police officers are expected to begin later this evening.
Eyewitness Graham Brennan, 34, lives in the area and recorded footage of officers carrying out the desperate hunt for the man.
Graham, who is self-employed and is still at the scene, said: “The police said a man took off his coat and walked straight into the water.
“At the moment they are searching and trying to recover the body.”
