This video shows the heat-stopping moment a young child was nearly killed after his pram almost rolled into a 30mph road.
Captured on 25-year-old Rebecca Moran’s dashcam, the footage was taken on the morning of June 29 in Woodville, Derbys, as Rebecca was en route to work.
The video, which has been viewed more than 75,000 times on social media, shows the Greggs worker’s vehicle approaching a house as a pram gradually rolls out on to the road before she slams her breaks.
The mother of the child then grabs the pram, before mouthing an apology to Rebecca.
Mum-of-one Rebecca has now shared the footage to raise awareness – but said she did not want the mum to be slammed.
Rebecca, a mum-of-one said: “I slammed my brakes on and sounded my horn to alert the oncoming traffic. I managed to stop the car before I collided into the pushchair.
“It was a little boy that was strapped into the pushchair and a rough guess that he would have been around two years old.
“I didn’t pull over to speak to the mother as I was in shock so I carried on my journey to work.”
Rebecca said the incident left her shocked and upset.
She added: “I was shaken up to see it happen and it’s something that is going to stick with me for a very long time. I cried on the way to work upset about what had just happened
“The mother looked as devastated and shocked as I did and also a little embarrassed about what had happened.
“I would like it if at least half the people who have viewed this video take into consideration what could happen if you take your eyes off the road just for two seconds.
“This was a main road which lorry drivers use a lot so this could of been a different story.
“I don’t blame the mother at all for what happened as it was an accident and I’m just glad I seen the pushchair rolling before it was too late.”
