Two young lions were caught sneaking into a campsite before making off into the bush with a camping bed.
The moment was captured by 21-year-old student, Callum Evans, who was on a two-week road trip with friends, Stewart Walker and Jason Venter, and had stopped off at the Mabuasehube Game Reserve, in Botswana, South Africa, to camp for the night.
Callum, who is studying, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at the University of Cape Town, said: “This was the second night of a two-week road trip that had been organised by my friends.
“I heard a noise in the campsite next to us and when I turned I saw a massive lioness walking in it. Adrenaline immediately shot through my system.
“There were about 5 lions in our line of sight, an adult lioness and four subadults.
“A massive three-year-old male strode into our campsite and began to sniff our camping gear that we’d abandoned
“Then the young male lying next to us joined him and began chewing on Stewart’s stretcher. They then started to drag it away and when Stewart shouted at them the big male ran off with the stretcher, bag and all, in his mouth.
“I had never seen anything like it before.”
