An adorable dog with hayfever can finally enjoy walkies again thanks to his new lycra onesie.
Seven-year-old Stan was destined for a life indoors after being diagnosed with a pollen allergy about three years ago.
The Hungarian Vizsla used to be left itching and sore following trips outside and owner, Kirsten Armitage, tried several remedies over the years including Piriton, creams and omega fish oil.
But it wasn’t until the mum-of-two discovered the revolutionary bodysuit while searching for a cure online that she found the solution to Stan’s problem once and for all.
The happy pup now goes everywhere in his chocolate coloured lycra onesie and despite a few bemused looks from passers by, can enjoy his favourite past time – chasing his ball through the fields – once again.
Kirsten, 45, from Manchester, said: “He’s such a happy dog but this was really affecting his quality of life.
“Every time we went out he’d be itching and nibbling for ages afterwards.
“He was getting progressively worse and it was heart-breaking to see.
“The vets advised to keep going with the Piriton but it wasn’t working.
“I decided to go with the brown suit to match Stan’s colouring so he didn’t stand out too much but people do still look at him and smile.
“As soon as he tried it on though he loved it. You could tell he felt quite cocky, he likes being the centre of attention, his tail was in the air and he was loving it.
“He’s a gun dog so running to fetch a ball is what he loves best. Now he can do what he loves again.”
The idea for the onesie was thought up by June Lotz, co-founder of K9 Top Coat.
The all-in-ones come in a range of colours and range from around £35 to £50.
June said: “I came up with the idea as a way of controlling shedding.
“Our first child was just beginning to crawl and with three large dogs it was impossible to keep our floors free of dog hair.
“Many people purchase one of our lycra bodysuits and have such great success they purchase more.
“We have a lot of word of mouth referrals but then again the coat speaks for itself, there’s nothing like having a dog wearing a lycra bodysuit in the park or walking down the street to draw people’s attention.
“The joy I experience when I hear that one of our bodysuits has dramatically improved the quality of a dog’s life is beyond words. It’s times like that when I know I have the best job in the world.”
