Pals Caroline Einhoff and Bridget Bahl held on as a group of nurse sharks in Exuma, Bahamas, circled them during a dip in the sea.

Photographer Gaby Rguez said the girls, from Germany and New York, were ‘so brave’ as they posed for the photos and were ‘in love’ with the sharks by the end of the shoot.

The 22-year-old, from Cuba, said: “Swimming with sharks is a once in a lifetime experience.

“The girls where so brave, they jumped right in and got used to them pretty fast.

“By the end of the shoot they were completely in love with them.

“Nurse sharks are slow-moving bottom-dwellers and are, for the most part, harmless to humans.

“They can be huge, up to 14 feet.”
