Police in the Indian state of West Bengal arrested a man after two women filmed him masturbating while making lewd gestures at them on a public bus.

Asit Roy, a hawker, in his late 50s was arrested from Shyampukur area of capital city Kolkata on Sunday after one of the two women posted videos of the incident on her and the local police’s Facebook pages.

The video garnered more than 2 millon views on facebook page and 30,000 shares by users, who demanded action against the accused man, who can be seen sitting and grinning while pleasuring himself on the moving bus.

The victim revealed the ordeal she and her friend had to go through 15 days ago when the same man had pulled down his pants and exposed his genitals.

“When we protested and asked the bus conductor to take action, he ignored our pleas. Fifteen days back when the person had made vulgar gestures we could not do anything as we did not have any proof. Today we have these two videos as proof and we want justice,” the victim said in her Facebook post.

Responding to the victim’s post, the Kolkata police, which later arrested the middle-aged hawker, said it didn’t need any written complaint as  the “videos posted on our Facebook page is enough for us. We have already lodged a case. We are trying to track down the culprit.”

In February this year, a female student posted a video of a man masturbating while sitting next to her on a bus in India’s capital city New Delhi.

The same month, police arrested a man in Mumbai city of Maharashtra state for masturbating while sitting in his car as he stared at the wife of a popular Indian TV actor in broad daylight.

India suffers from high levels of sexual violence against its women, with nearly 40,000 rapes reported in 2016, according to government figures.

The country witnessed widespread outrage last month over the brutal gang rape and murder of an 8-year-old girls but Hindus, who wanted to drive out her Muslim tribe from a Hindu dominated area.

The incident forced the Indian government to bring-in law that awards death penalty to those found guilty of raping girls below 12.

But sexual violence continues abated across the country with three teenage girls raped and burned alive this week.
