These fascinating designs propose a different kind of city – one made entirely of floating modular PYRAMIDS, each containing an array of liveable and entertainment facilities.
The futuristic proposals hint at pyramids that would host not only host living quarters and hotels, but also the likes of cinemas and bars, gyms and shops.
They are the work of Pierpaolo Lazzarini and Lazzarini Design, which says that its project, named “Wayaland,” is partly inspired by a Japanese temples.
Currently, the firm is looking for crowdfunding in order to make the vision a reality.
According to Mr. Lazzarini, building the first Waya suite will cost an estimated 350,000 EURO (308,000 GBP), a sum that can be crowdfunded, they say, by preordering nights for the year 2022.
Each module is overlapped on a floating basement, which measures 54 meters by 54 meters for the largest module.
These basements will hold the likes of an entrance from boats and a reception, the entryway for the wonders the lie on the 10 floors above.
This gives the structure a maximum height of 30 meters above sea level.
In the submerged part of the structure, then, the likes of an engine room, generators and energy sources will be housed.
The power will also come from solar panels, which will adorn the surface of the fiberglass, carbon and steel structures, anchored in place but also capable of moving.
Cinzia Ruggeri, a spokesperson for Lazzarini Design, said: “Wayaland will offer a new offshore living experience, a self sustainable community, built around the human on the water.
“Each investor or contributor will become a citizen of Waya and will receive the Waya passport (an invitation for 2022 inauguration).
“Lazzarini is looking for investors and contributors from the web in order to start building Wayaland.”
