This is the rare and seemingly undocumented moment a six-month-old elephant was filmed hysterically laughing during a game with her park carer.
Laura, from Aberdeenshire, UK, captured the uplifting moment at Maevang Elephant Camp, Chiang Mai, Thailand, during a two-month holiday celebrating her graduation from university.
The baby elephant, who was being entertained by one of her closest carers with a plastic bucket, was seen having the time of her life whilst enamored visitors watched on in awe.
Laura, a student of geology, was moved by the elephant’s innocence and playful nature during a fun-filled day of feeding, caring and petting the 14,000-pound animals at the elephant clinic.
The PhD student said: “It made me feel so happy to see the elephant obviously having such a good time.
“We watched the baby being playful, relaxed and care-free all day.
“She seemed to be quite a cheeky little girl, and at one point even tried to eat my top.”
The elated elephant’s mum can be seen keeping a close eye on her young whilst she too is also being cared for by a park keeper.
Laura said: “In the afternoon, we got to ride the older elephants for a little way through the jungle.
“The baby came along for a stroll and to have some fun.”
After originally being posted online in 2014, Laura recently re-shared the post much to the amusement of her Facebook friends.
