This incredible roll of the cloud is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
The colossal tube hangs low and almost seems like it’s risen out of the New Orleans sea.
The otherworldly footage was captured by Curtis Christensen, a carpenter and photographer, who lives on the ocean.
Arcus clouds are a low formation of clouds that often appear along with a Cumulonimbus.
The 52-year-old took the footage on the way to work and posted it online – he’s been astounded by the response.
He said: “It’s the tail end of a significant cold front sweeping the United States this week.
“We get big fronts often this time of year and I’ll position myself to see what develops, but I have never seen a leading edge quite like this stretching all the way across the horizon or had this strong of a response to a social media post.
“Everyone is amazed by it and it’s the closest I’ve ever come to ‘going viral’.
“Amazing how something really takes off when it touches a chord with others.”
