These animal mums were beaming with pride as they posed with their fur babies for an adorable Mother’s Day photo shoot.
Photographer Mark Taylor, 53, built up the ‘irresistably cute’ collection of photos just in time for Mothering Sunday.
The series captures mums of various species including dogs, cats, hedgehogs and ferrets with their playful little ones.
Despite the mums being there to keep a watchful eye over their fur babies, Mark admits that often the younger animals are still mischievous and run around while he is trying to get the perfect shot.
Mark said: “The babies are just so cute which makes it really easy to take the pictures.
“I don’t get to do these mother and baby shoots very often but I enjoy doing it. They are really fun.
“You would think that the kids would behave with mum around but I think the babies are worse when they are with their mother.
“They’re like children when they are good as gold at school but around their mums they are mischievous.
“All the animals have their own little personalities and enjoy running around and not doing what we want them to do – but that is what makes it so fun.
“We do have a few puppies who come in and all they want to do is suckle which is cute but it doesn’t make a great picture having a puppy sucking on a teat.
“Each animal has their own little personality, the young ones even more so as they are so curious.
“I personally love the kittens, they’re just irresistibly cute and funny. But I couldn’t pick a favourite picture from the collection.”
Mark, who owns Warren Photographic Limited, took the gorgeous snaps at his studio in Hastings.
Dad-of-one Mark admits that the pictures show that it isn’t just human mums that we should celebrate on Mother’s Day but all animal mums as well.
Mark said: “A few of them are pets of other people however they are mostly a mix of pets and animals that my mother bred.
“I have a studio and I take them in there. Most of the images are against a plain white background but sometimes I like to change it.
“Mother’s Day isn’t just for humans it is a way to celebrate animal mums too. They still do a lot of work for their babies.
“I’m sure a lot of animal lovers see their pets as children too so these pictures are a perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day.”
