Autographed items from The Beatles, John Lennon and Yoko Ono including rare family pictures, handwritten notes and more are up for auction at $70,000 (50kGBP).

PICS BY RR AUCTION / CATERS NEWS – The most expensive piece estimated at USD20k (15kGBP) is a picture of Lennon and his family in a park during a visit to Japan, with classic doodles by the star himself. Taken by their trusted family photographer Nishi Saimaru, it also bears the note, To Mae West, with love John Lennon, 78.

The personalised pieces that stem from Beatlemania to the breaking up of the Fab Four will be sold by RRAuction.com next week (MARCH 8 – 15th).

The most expensive piece estimated at $20k (15kGBP) is a picture of Lennon and his family in a park during a visit to Japan, with classic doodles by the star himself.

Taken by their trusted family photographer Nishi Saimaru, it also bears the note, ‘To Mae West, with love John Lennon, 78’.

A personally typed out thank you note from Yoko Ono to a Seattle Radio Station for promoting her album in 1973, signed and initialled with ‘P.s. I agree – John’ is up for $7.5k (5.5kGBP)

A note from recipient Paul Gregg of KOL-FM Radio, said: “In 1973 I was working as the mid-day DJ on a Seattle radio station, KOL-FM.

“It was common for us to interview recording artists either live in the studio or by phone when new albums were being released.

“This was the situation when the representative from Capitol Records arranged for Yoko and John to phone in during my radio show.

“As I recall we chatted for about 15 minutes, I played a couple of cuts, and that was that. About a week or so later I received this thank you letter.”

The photos are affixed to individual off-white 7 x 5 sheets. Framed and in very good condition, with moderate overall creasing and fair contrast to McCartneys surname against his dark suit

An autographed copy of John and Yoko’s wedding album is estimated at $4,000 (2.8kGBP) in addition to a sketch of the happy couple with a copy of their marriage certificate.

Varying signatures from the full Beatles line-up and John and Yoko, are estimated between $5,000 – $8,000 (3.6-5.7kGBP) including one with photographs.

A John Lennon signed note to ‘D. Blackburn (Mr)!’ states ‘P.P.S. Glad you liked the shows. P.P.S All the rumours are a lot of Rubbish’ is up for $3k (2.1kGBP).

Along with Beatles Trading Cards for $4k (2.8kGBP), each containing 36 unopened wax cards and bubble gum, the 1964 lot shows floating heads of the band.

They will be joined by more than $31,000 (22kGBP) worth of signed items by Jimi Hendrix, including an arrest and fingerprint card, autographed café menu, Woodstock Post and more.
