This is the jaw-dropping moment three members of a family including a young boy miraculously survived after a speeding jeep hit their bike on a highway in India.
The shocking incident captured on CCTV took place on Wednesday in Deesa in Banaskantha in western Indian state of Gujarat.
Kesarbhai Desai, 45, was riding a motorbike, along with his wife and son, without wearing a helmet when he tried to cross the road from the wrong direction.
As a result, a speeding jeep coming from the other direction smashed into their bike,throwing them off the vehicle powerfully.
The three fell on the road while their motorbike skidded and rammed into the divider.
In the video clip, as Desai in white tunic and pants, still shocked can be seen struggling on the road while his infant son immediately gets up and rushes towards his mother.
Shockingly, the jeep driver did not bother to pull over for help instead rushed from the spot.
Within a span of seconds scores of local residents rushed for their help. Surprisingly, none of them sustained major injury despite the massive impact.
The three were immediately taken to a local hospital where they were discharged after first aid.
Assistant sub-inspector of police, Sagar Vinubhai Ahir, said: “Desai’s mistake can’t be ignored in the accident. He crossed the road without looking that a speeding vehicle is coming from behind.
“The good thing is that the family had miraculously survived and none of them had any serious injury.
“They have been discharged from the hospital.”
The police is looking for the jeep driver who fled from the spot after hitting the bike-borne family.
Ahir added: “We have identified the vehicle number from the CCTV footage and are looking for the driver. I’m sure we will arrest him soon and take necessary action against him.
