The Human Ken Doll’s $15,000 (£10kGBP) procedure to thicken his hairline and EMULATE ELVIS’S HAIR works so well he has been left trimming his eyebrows and sideburns EVERY DAY.
Justin Jedlica, 37, underwent the eight-hour follicular unit extraction that transplanted 2,800 hair graphs to replicate the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ idol and help him feel like an ‘adult male’.
Despite spending $14,000 (£9.9kGBP) on over 40 laser hair removal sessions during his youth, he’s now reversing the effect by implanting sideburns.
As well as enlarging his eyebrows, lowering and thickening his thinning hairline.
Dr. John Kahen and three technicians, of Beverly Hills Hair Restoration performed the ‘Celebrity Hair Rejuvenation’ on Justin to give him the ‘Hollywood Hairline’
They removed over 900 tiny pieces of skin from the back of his head, extracted the follicles and implanted them into 2,800 incisions made in his scalp, eyebrows and sideburn area.
It took four-months for his new hair to grow, but since then, Justin has been delighted with the rapid regrowth, which he believes has helped him to finally embrace his ‘daddy years’.
He confesses the procedure was so successful that he must groom, arrange and trim his newly grown side-facial fuzz and eyebrows daily.
Justin, from Beverley Hill, in California, USA, said: “I think facial hair plays a really large role in the way society perceives a masculine or handsome appearance verses a young boyish one.
“When I was in my twenties I wasn’t ready for facial hair, I tried to hold onto my boyish looks and wasn’t ready to accept looking like an adult male.
“I think at that point in my life I equated my beard and moustache growth to getting old. I feared the loss of my ‘twinkdom’.
“Laser hair removal allowed me stay comfortable in my own skin until now.
“In my early twenties, I spent so much money lasering off all my hair, but now at 37-years-old, I feel that by the time I’m forty I should have some facial hair and that it would look sexy on me.
“This procedure was one that helped restore me back to man that I would have been, if I hadn’t meddled with things in the past. This was a form of reconstruction in my opinion.
“I think my newfound confidence as a mature adult man in his late thirties is an attractive quality.
“I’m ready for some of that rugged George Clooney scruff mixed with that Elvis Presley sideburn and hairline.
“This procedure definitely helped bridging the gap for me. As I get older, if I wanted to implant a whole beard, Dr.Kahen can do that too.
“The change is pretty drastic. Seeing the hair grow has been really cool and the fact that I could artistically enhance my eyebrows and my sideburns is really awesome.
“Because the hair is genetically programmed to grow at the same rate as my head hair, its growing at an uncontrollable rate. I get up and it looks like I have old man eyebrows, due to it growing super long and super-fast.
“So I have to keep them groomed and in place, making sure they all face the right direction, I’m having to use scissors and trimming my sideburns, which I’ve never had to do before.
“I trim them on a daily basis due to it growing so fast, it’s kind of weird but also really fun to have facial hair – I’m finally stepping into my manhood.”
Justin was 18-years-old when he had his first of five nose jobs.
Since then he’s undergone 630 cosmetic procedures and spent $625,000 (445kGBP), which he claims makes him the ‘world’s most modified man’.
His alterations include his nose, cheeks, chin, jaw, forehead, lips, shoulders, back, six-pack abs, biceps, triceps and bum and more.
Justin said: “When I was 25 years old, having pec implants definitely served me as wright of passage, marking a time when I accepted myself as a young man and not just a boy.
“I feel that with the facial hair grafts, it’s me owning my age and stepping into a comfort with my middle age, something that I’ve never previously felt.
“I wanted to masculinize my facial hair a bit and thus the decision to thicken and widen my eyebrows. I also wanted to give myself sideburns.”
Justin was first alerted to the thinning of his hairline after visiting his celebrity hair stylist, Drake James, where he identified a tiny hairless patch and his receding hairline.
He tried to cover it with make-up but the insecurities about the balding patches, thinning areas and the longing for sideburns encouraged him to opt for a permanent solution.
Justin said: “From that moment I couldn’t stop thinking about them and considered rejuvenation.
“Looking at pictures, I used to style my hair by pushing it forward and floppy at the front to hide the recession and would even use make-up to darken the hairline.
“I was pulling spikes towards the centre of my face to hide the spots on my sides that were less dense.
“There’s a lot you can hide with make-up, but it takes such a weight off you, knowing you don’t have to do that anymore and has really built my confidence and self-esteem.”
Dr. John Kahen, of Beverly Hills Hair Restoration performed the specialized follicular unit extraction, a hair graph transplant procedure that would cost $15,000 (10kGBP).
Justin said: “They took the little cookie cutter pieces from my head and on each little circle of skin that was around 2mm they could take two hairs.
“The hair at the back of your head is more dense and genetically programmed to always grow.
“Then they made little punctures in the skin around my eyebrows, forehead and sideburns area, then inserted the individual hairs and follicles in each one.
“I had to let the skin heal and scab around the hair follicles, within two weeks the hair started to shed but then months later, the follicle that remains slowly starts growing new hair.”
Now Justin is amazed by how much fuller his hairline appears and says it has allowed him to feel more comfortable with aging.
He added: “I’m not trying to look younger, but to maintain the look I have now, I have an image to uphold as the Human Ken doll.
“The transformation is quite impressive and is something that not many people realize is doable. The doctor implants eyelashes and even pubic hair.
“I never knew you could do that until I went to see Doctor Kahen.
“I’m really happy with how I look now, everyone talks to me about it, even my bank teller commented on how good my hair looks.”
