This kung-fu kangaroo is super- keen to defend his turf!
The marsupial ambushed Sammy, a 10-month-old golden retriever, and her owner when they were exploring a new part of a park they regularly walk in.
The kangaroo clearly chose a fight over a flight response, and began hopping aggressively towards Sammy as she barked defensively.
As the startled dog and owner beat a hasty retreat, the kangaroo follows them to see them off, before bounding in the opposite direction through the bush.
Sammy’s owner, who did not wish to be named, said: “We were taking a morning walk in a park that backs onto our house.
“We decided to explore a part of the park we had not seen before, and as we were returning home we came across the kangaroo.
“It’s quite rare to get this close to them, and unlike one we saw five minutes before, this kangaroo didn’t hop away.
“It popped out of nowhere and just blocked our path. Sammy had never seen one so close before and we were both startled, so she got protective and started barking.
“After a few moments it suddenly started to chase us down.
“I didn’t want the dog or the kangaroo to get hurt. You see terrible videos of dogs getting hurt by kangaroos and I was just hoping that none of us would come to any harm.
“It finally decided to leave us be and jump off into the bush. We won’t be going to that part of the park anymore, and I make sure to leave ourselves another escape route.
“I was worried about snakes before that walk but now I guess I have to look out for kangaroos as well.”
