Say goodbye to filthy seats with this car where pimp my ride meets crufts.
Nissan has brought out the X-Trail 4Dogs to improve walkies with everything from a shower, hair dryer and sweet dispenser for pampered pooches.
It is doggy gadgets galore in the 4×4 which is even kitted out with a TV screen in the boot so dogs can as watch and hear their owner in the driving seat.
Ryan Gains, Chief Marketing Manager, X-Trail, said: “It’s clear from the research that for dog owners, dogs are a key part of the family.
“Ensuring their pet’s needs are catered for is often just as important as making sure the children are comfortable and happy.”
The idea of an X-Trail for dogs came after a survey carried out with Kennel Club members, revealed that 90% of them wanted a car with added dog friendly space.
Nissan say the new car’s main feature is a comfortable, leather-clad boot with enough space for two dogs and importantly can be easily-wiped-down.
Vet, Dr. Rachel Homeny, said: “In particular, the wash and dry functionality allows dogs to be dogs, so owners don’t need to worry about messing up the car interior.
“This is a great concept that caters to the needs of man’s best friend.”
Far from a set of wheels to take a family from A to B, Nissan has tried to eliminate all pains of driving dogs about by using the very latest technology.
Top gadgets include a two way dog camera and audio link displayed on screens and speakers at both ends of the car to keep pets calm.
A no-spill water bowl and a smart dog treat dispenser which dogs can activate themselves by pressing a pad.
Under the boot space, is a pull out ramp in case the almighty jump is a leap to far for dogs and perhaps best of all is a 360 degree shower to wash them down after a mucky walk.
The shower comes with a blower attachment to dry them off using warm air supplied into the boot and all is neatly stowed under the boot space.
For comfort there is a luxury bed and for safety, a clip on harness.
Side compartments store leads, treats and waste bags and there is a Nissan dog guard behind the rear seats.
The water and treats bowl, as well as the beds, can be removed to use the boot as normal.
The X-Trail is the largest of Nissan’s crossover range which also includes the Qashqai and the Juke.
