This impromptu party definitely didn’t end in TRAGEDY when concertgoers started a car park dance after a Steps concert.
As Holly Baxter left the First Direct Arena in Leeds, West Yorks, on Tuesday November 21 she was greeted by the group’s song ‘One for sorrow’ being blasted out of a car window.
With the music blaring, a huge group of fans break out their cheesiest dance moves, clapping their hands and tapping their feet in the CitiPark Merrion Car Park.
As the rave carried on for a further 30 minutes, Holly and her friend Freya Chaytor jumped out of their car and joined in with the boogie.
Holly said: “We had never seen anything like this before.
“It was the most perfect way to keep everyone relaxed while we waited an hour to leave the car park.
“The atmosphere was uplifting and there was no tension for drivers with the possibility of a long journey home.
“We turned off the ignition, got out the car and collaborated with our fellow fans.”
The music came from a grey Vauxhall Astra, with a man appearing to entertain his family with songs from Steps and their warm-up act, The Vengaboys.
Holly said: “He was waiting to pull out in front of us to leave, and was entertaining his family playing with his car horn.
“With this, passers-by began to dance to his music and he got out of the car to join them.
“As the Steps’ songs started, more and more fans exited their car to join the throwback party.
“At least 40 to 50 people were dancing away the minutes stuck in the car park.”
