This incredible first-person footage shows the moment an unsuspecting man walked out onto the balcony of his brand new home, only to be greeted by a dazzling display from THE NORTHERN LIGHTS.
The eye-opening video starts by showcasing the interior of photographer Iurie Belegurschi’s Reykjavik new home, which he had just picked up the keys to that very evening.
Soon Iurie, 34, started making his way to the glass doors.
Stepping out onto his balcony, he was almost immediately met with the sight of a geometric storm – a display that, he said, was one of the most vibrant he had ever seen.
Filming the moment in stunning clarity, Iurie moved the camera vertically to show the almost rainbow-like storm flickering above his head.
The moment was captured on October 24, 2017, and Iurie has since seen his video received a positive response on Guide To Iceland, a collaboration been the Icelandic travel industry.
Iurie said: “It was like a welcome firework display for my new home.
“I just bought the house, and that evening I got the keys.
“When I got to the house, I didn’t know that I could see the Northern Lights from my backyard – I was not sure if there is a lot of light pollution or not.
“So, when I saw the lights so clear and so bright for the first time, from my own balcony, I was really happy!
“I can’t wait to spend evenings with my family watching the Northern Lights from my balcony or backyard.”
