This tiny tot’s first memory of Halloween will certainly be a traumatising one, thanks to her prankster older sister and a creepy witch mask.
Too young to remember last year’s festivities, 21-month-old Skyla Reece Smith was looking forward to trick-or-treating on October 31, but that quickly changed when her four-year-old sister, Savannah Grace, decided to play a prank on her.
During a last-minute candy dash in Wal-Mart, Bentonville, Arkansas, with mum, Carolina, Savannah can be seen putting a seriously creepy witch mask over her head, as Skyla stands in the shopping cart behind her, none the wiser.
Turning around to face her little sister, Skyla stares up at Savannah in momentary bemusement before erupting into a petrified ear-piercing scream.
Descending into a spontaneous frenzied state of fright, the one-and-a-half-year-old is nearly knocked off of her feet at the sight of the decrepit mask, as Savannah can be seen smiling to herself with pride as she takes it off.
Co-mastermind of the priceless prank, mum, Carolina, said: “Skyla had one Halloween last year, but she was too young to really understand any of it.
“Savannah wanted to try on a few of the masks; Skyla insisted that she didn’t.
“I had no idea that she’d be scared or freaked out by them, but I thought I’d try and capture her reaction nonetheless.
“I thought she may be a little scared, but I didn’t think her reaction would be this awesome.
“Her reaction still makes me laugh – me and Savannah were laughing so hard we were crying in the store.
“The employees were all telling me I was mean, while trying not to laugh themselves.
“Skyla was so scared I had to carry her around for the rest of the shopping trip.
“Needless to say, we’ve decided against scary outfits this year – both girls will be going as princesses.”
