An Indian man has set a new world record of stuffing 22 lit candles at a time in his mouth.
Dinesh Upadhyaya, 40, from Mumbai, is known as ‘Maximouth’ for his amazing ability to stuff huge amounts of objects into his mouth.
The science teacher holds an incredible 31 world records in different categories and has broken his own earlier record of holding 18 lit candles in mouth.
“I wanted to challenge myself and see how much I can expand my mouth.
“I practiced yoga and breathing exercises every to enhance the mouth stuffing capacity.
“I also massage my facial muscles and using fingers to stretch the opening of my mouth as much as possible.”
Dinesh had been practicing these acts for last 17 years as a hobby but got interested in making world records only recently after watching a video of an American man named Todd DeFazio stuffing 70 pencils in his mouth.
He said: “After watching that video it struck to me that I can do better than this person. I started applying for the Guinness World Records.
“After many failures and depressing phases, I could ultimately break and create new records.
“Currently I am the leading Indian Guinness World Record breaker but I want to be world’s number one.
“I want to set 100 world records and break all the possible mouth stuffing records.”
Upadhyaya has broken the world records 89 times in 31 different categories including mouth stuffing, fast eating, holding maximum objects in quick time, speed movements and blindfolded acts.
“For me, mental preparedness is much important. Once, I am mentally 100 percent sure about an act only then I go for the final shoot. I always take precautions while doing such extreme acts. I never crossed the red line,” he said.
