These grandparents-to-be aren’t quite getting the surprise.
Their gifts are supposed to reveal the pregnancy of their son and daughter in law, but they’re comically slow on the up take.
Nicole Buffalini, 26, says she didn’t think it would take quite that long for them to figure it out. She said: “I thought it was pretty obvious, but they were completely oblivious to what was going on. I did not expect them to take that long to figure it out.
She and her husband Zac both live in Pennsylvania and think part of the confusion was down to the fact that they used Easter baskets.
“We happened to find we were pregnant the week leading up to Easter, so I figured it would make it less obvious if they opened the gift as part of their Easter baskets.
“I thought they would be excited, but my mother in law’s reaction was far better than I could have imagined.
“The gift is a fishing lure with the words “new fishing buddy coming soon” stamped on it. They recently purchased a bass boat as Larry’s retirement gift, so I filled the baskets with things that would make them look forward to the boat.
“This will be our first child and they’ll be first time grandparents. We had just found out 3 days prior, so they had no clue I was pregnant!
“The baby is due December 17th and we’re having a girl – no names yet though!”
