A dad-of-two claims he caught the ‘worst John Cleese impression ever’ when he filmed the moment a man made his way down London high street while kicking his legs so high he fell over.
Anthony Morris, 38, spotted the man, who he says bore an ‘uncanny’ resemblance to Mick Jagger, on Finchley Road in north London on Wednesday while waiting for a friend.
The bizarre footage shows the man kicking his legs high above his leg as he walks sternly around the street, at one point getting his leg so high he falls over – but carries on unfazed.
Anthony said: “It was bizarre. I noticed him on the other side of the road doing his kicks and it really drew my attention.
“I was impressed at how high he could get his legs up.
“At first I thought he was kicking a bus so I got a bit worried that he was being violent.
“I was ready to get out of my car to make sure he was okay but I soon realised he wasn’t being violent he was just enjoying himself.
“I pulled up and got my phone out to record him just to show my friends what was going on.
“He was definitely eccentric. He reminded me of a mixture of Mick Jagger with the bizarre outfit and something from a John Cleese sketch.
“I loved how when he fell he just stood up dusted himself off and carried on like it never happened.
“A few people were giving him some funny looks while they were walking past but I think it was because he was getting so close to them with his kicks.
“I was getting worried that he might kick himself in the face or hit someone walking past but he seemed pretty harmless.
“It made my day, you don’t see people like this every day.”
After returning home, Anthony, a driver from Enfield, shared the video with his friends and family and admits his two sons did try to recreate it.
He said: “My partner Claire found it hilarious then I showed it to my two boys and they loved it.
“They were trying to copy him in the front room, I was getting worried the light fittings might get kicked down.
“A few people have told me that they’ve seen him before in the area but this is the first time I’ve seen him.
“I don’t think I’ll be joining in with him if I see him again but I might play some music for him so he can kick along to that.”
