This is the fantastic moment a man leaves his girlfriend breathless by proposing after trekking up Machu Picchu.
After completing the arduous walk up to the iconic Incan citadel in Peru, Madeleine Flood and Clayton Stamper take a stunning selfie video with the clouds thousands of feet below them.
As Madeleine happily exclaims the gorgeous couple made it to the top and the Sun just came out, Clayton swiftly pulls out the engagement ring and asks her to marry him.
Instantly she agrees before breathlessly repeating ‘yes’ with the stunning scenery behind them while they celebrate with some loving kisses.
Madeleine, from Chicago, Illinois, USA, said: “My heart just felt like it was going to burst.
“You can see I’m kind of breathless and it literally left me speechless, which is a rare feat for me, who won’t stop talking.
“This was on the eighth day of our trip, so Clayton had been carrying the ring around that whole time.
“I had been a little grouchy during the last part of our trip and to see him just be so relieved once it was over and happy and joyful made me fall in love with him all over again.”
The couple, who met on Tinder two years ago, were on a two-week holiday to the country but Madeleine had no idea of the surprise at the end.
She said: “It definitely crossed my mind before we left that Machu Picchu would be an incredible place to be proposed to.
“However, Clayton is so cautious about things I didn’t think he would bring a diamond ring all the way down to Peru.
“On top of which I was very snoopy and went through all of our luggage before we left.
“He kept making me think he was going to need more time to save up for the ring and do it around all of our family but he actually had my mom in on it the entire time.
“He told me at the beginning of the trip that we had to make lots of videos to send to all of our family and friends so I didn’t think anything was strange when he pulled out the camera and selfie stick.”
The happy pair are attempting to travel across all seven continents together and will be honeymooning in South Africa, to leave just Antarctica on their list.
Madeleine said: “I can’t believe I get to marry the man of my dreams.
“There’s this funny part of the video that Clay jokes with me about, where my hand just kind of floats out in front of myself and I’m staring at it, and in that moment, I thought ‘how did I get so lucky’?
“This experience was just invaluable and I can’t wait to tell our kids about it someday.
“Their future partners have some big shoes to fill.”
