It’s rare enough seeing a dolphin in the water near an airport…
Let alone a pink one!
This rare, pink dolphin was spotted by Hong Kong Airport, when its colour dazzled a photographer.
Contrasting against the dark blue sea, the pink dolphin is a stand out to anyone – however far away they are.
Brian Matthews captured this image when he was on a business trip in China.
Brian said: “The Hong Kong pink dolphins are Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins and there are around 60 dolphins in the waters around Hong Kong.
“Uniquely, the population along the Chinese coast has pink skin – the pink colour is from the blood vessels, the pinker they go the more they are trying to cool down.
“With any animal this rare my first thought is that I’ve been a little lucky to seem them!”
