This is certainly one stuffed parrot – as he scoffs down a child’s breakfast.
Cheeky goffin cockatoo Calypso was spotted pinching some of five-year-old Brennan’s sandwich.
As the little lad takes a bite out of his breakfast, the 31-year-old bird takes the chance to nibble a few bites of the filling.
The video was shot by mum Katie as she fed her children breakfast in the dining room of their home in Ocala, Florida.
After taking a quick video she had to shoo the hungry parrot away.
The 26-year-old said: “The kids were eating a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast.
“I’d just got the two older children sorted and went to take care of my four-month-old.
“As soon as I turned my back Calypso was indulging herself.
“She knows the kids will share with her once my back is turned and she usually stands ready by their plates.
“This is something different, however, as I’ve never seen them eating together at the same time.
“The second after I stopped filming I removed her from the table.
“My family and friends are all very familiar with how Calypso begs for food, as well as how much she wants to be with us at the table.
“But she doesn’t often bury her beak in like this.
“The behaviour is very normal, as social eating is very important to wild flocks.
“We never let her take much, however. She’s always been healthy and allowed to steal bites here and there, but it’s always about moderation.”
Calypso has been in Katie’s family since 1996.
She has an unbreakable plucking habit following an abusive start in life.
