Margaret McEwan, a keen photographer from Berkshire, was snapping pictures of swans at a local lake, in Sandhurst, when one of the swans decided to hog the Spotlight.

Margaret said: “Even I was surprised at how close the swan came up to me as I lay flat on the ground to get a different angle.

“I live close to the lake and find that the best results come when you bribe your subject with their favourite food!

“The swans have started recognising me when I go down to see them and they come flapping over when I take the food out of my bag.”

Margaret, who works for an adventure tour operator, and also as a magistrate, was taking pictures as part of the 365 challenge which inspires photographers to take a picture every day for one whole year.

She said: “The photo has to be posted on your Facebook page the same day.

“It’s a really difficult challenge as I’m very busy all the time but I have kept on track with 160 photos taken so far.”
