People across the world are melting over Taiwan’s newest canine recruits and they are just 4-weeks-old!
The New Taipei Police Department has officially debuted six, pure bred, Labrador Retriever puppies who will go on to be top dogs in the force.
The little bundles of fluffy joy named Fuxing, Shuman, Feida, Yige, AJ, Liang, will be trained as sniffer dogs for the narcotics unit, with plans to train at least one of them as a blood-detection dog.
To celebrate their one-month birthday, and of course gaining a place in canine-academy, the public were introduced to the puppies in an adorable photo shoot.
The police department are hoping that the puppies will go onto be as successful as their two year-old Mum, Yellow, who will continue her role as a drug detection dog as soon as she has finished mummy duty.
The puppies have barely opened their eyes but have already been admitted into the official training programme which will take between eight and twelve months to complete.
Each puppy will get a certificate as a graduate from canine academy, which will be reviewed every year based on a performance review.
If they decide that life on the beat is not for them they they can live a life of luxury as a family pet or update their doggy CV for a new career.
