This is the adorable moment a devoted boyfriend flies almost 4000 miles to propose to travelling girlfriend, just six months after meeting online.
Battling bustling crowds at London’s St. Pancras station, Lauren Lucille, from Perrysburg, Ohio, USA, was on the last leg of her month-long trip around Europe blissfully unaware of the impending surprise.
Anxiously awaiting her arrival through a sea of faces is boyfriend of six months Tom Jacoby, who has travelled 3816 miles from Perrysburg to ask her a very special question.
Spotting the ‘love of her life’ in front of her, Lauren gasps ‘honey’, but before she has time to react, Tom is down on one knee proclaiming how he ‘wishes to never be away’ from her again, before asking for her hand in marriage.
Lauren said: “It was truly the most I’ve ever been surprised in my life, I just couldn’t believe he was standing there in front of me.
“I’d just spent the last three and half weeks travelling round Italy, France and Budapest with almost no contact with Tom and suddenly he was right there waiting for me in London.
“I just couldn’t get my head around it.”
Lauren and Tom met on Match.com in 2016, quickly falling in love with one another.
Despite their relatively short time together, when he asked the question ‘will you marry me?’ Lauren didn’t hesitate in declaring in ‘yes’ repeatedly.
Lauren said: “We had already spoken about getting married one day, but never did I expect him to ask me so soon, let alone fly across the world to do it.
“There is no doubt in my mind that we’re absolutely perfect for one another, we’ve settled into life so well with each other and I can’t wait to see what our future holds.
“He only started planning the proposal a week-prior but had already met with my parents to ask their permission and tracked down exactly where I would be to get my next train.
“We finished off the weekend in London together before flying home, it was a great little engagement weekend.
“We’re hoping to get married this winter, we are both so excited.”
