This mum has created a series of amazing lunchboxes for her son.

Care home worker, Marta Szymborska, 30, from Evesham, Worcestershire, has been making these amazing lunchbox designs for her son Filip, four, since schools were allowed to return after lockdown in March.

Marta – dubbed Vincent Van Cob – has created dinosaurs, aliens and even Super Mario, entirely out of sandwiches.

She said: “I enjoy it so much! It is my morning ritual and I find it a better way to start the day than a relaxing cup of coffee.

“Last year during Covid, they cancelled the lunches at my son’s nursery in an effort to not spread the virus, so we all had to prepare our own at home which is how the journey began.

“Even before the account, I was cutting his sandwiches into shapes to make him smile so it was really nice to be able to do this for school.

“I was told when he used to get to nursery, all of the kids were stood around Filip watching to see what would be inside.

“I love to do what makes my boy smile.”

She has been uploading her creations to her Instagram account @lunchbox4filip and interacting with other parents online wanting to learn the tricks.

She added: “I started the Instagram account in March, and I get lovely comments online whenever a new picture is uploaded.

“I am quite a creative person anyway and I have always enjoyed intricate things that take patience, so being able to share these creations has been a great new experience.

“It is always fun talking to other people who want to try the same thing for their kids.

“My friends and work colleagues have often said I should do this professionally, but I am more than happy just doing this for my son.”

Marta believes that the lunches should always aim to be healthy as well as artistic.

She explained,  “ My son’s nursery have always encouraged healthy food which is brilliant.

“Occasionally there is a small snack, but the majority of the meal consists of healthy fruits and vegetables.”

Marta immigrated from Poland eight years ago, and despite her talent with food, has never worked in a kitchen.

She said: “I actually studied history when I lived in Poland,  when I came to the United Kingdom, I worked in a factory for a while before my current job in a care home.”

It was a tough decision for Marta when asked about her favourite creation so far.

Marta said: “It is difficult, but I will have to go with the Super Mario. My son is obsessed with all the Super Mario games at the moment, so he was very happy when he opened his lunchbox and saw him.

“It is really encouraging that people think it is cool.”
