A make-up artist has created a sequence of bizarre – and rather gruesome – food illusions on her skin.
The artist, Angela Jaynes, also known as Kalypsoh online, 27, from Boston, US, says she enjoys creating looks using special effects, oil paint and clay.
She creates food illusions on the skin which appear as though her leg has been torn open and stuffed with a series of foods, including popcorn, mac n’ cheese and cereal.
Amanda added: “I have always been into make-up and art.
“The special effects came into play around three years ago after seeing it gain popularity online and I create the photos and videos you see here as a hobby for now and I am expecting to turn it into a profession within the next year through YouTube and Instagram.
“I do makeup and special effects for film here and there as well as work full time at Sephora.
“The food in body illusions all started with a giant bag of Swedish Fish candy my mother gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago.
“I was sitting in the art room where most of my ideas come to me and was wondering what I was supposed to do with all of this especially knowing I was not going to finish eating them!
“I had practised on my friends foot one day for fun the week ahead with fake flowers and wanted to do more ‘torn flesh’ so a light bulb went off.
“I was really about to put real food IN my leg! I had never seen it done before and it caught attention. These looks are fun and eye catching for me. I cringe with excitement during the whole process.
“I will never not love applying the blood and latex! People love watching the process videos, seeing exactly how I did it and something about the removals is also very satisfying to people.”
