Locals were shocked to see a huge, dark cloud rolling over Block Island.
Home Builder and Charter Fishing Captain Steve Miller, 61, had gone to the ferry landing with his wife to pick up their son when he noticed the cloud appearing just after 7pm on Friday 13TH March.
The giant cloud stretched across the sea from East to West as it approached the Island.
Steve said: “As it got very close, it moved and rolled visibly, as if it might overrun and swallow our tiny little Island.”
Steve also confirmed there was a wind squall that lasted just a few minutes.
“It looked so foreboding, it perfectly matched the mood of apprehension and darkness falling over our country, and our moods,” he said.
“I’ve never seen anything quite like it”.
