An adorable Cocker Spaniel has uncovered a number of hidden gems across the UK while travelling across the country with his owner.
Two year-old, Murphy, from Mansfield, East Mids, has a number of idyllic snaps thanks to his owner, Kelly Overton, 31.
The teacher has travelled across the country with her four-legged friend for their Instagram-worthy photographs including boat cruises in York, hiking in the Lake District and paddle boarding in nature reserves.
She said: “When I made the decision to get Murphy I could never have imagined all the different ways in which he would change my life, because of him I’ve found love in new hobbies, new places and new friendships.
“His sheer joy in life is infectious and I’ve learnt to appreciate the simple things in life a lot more.
“Before Murphy, I couldn’t imagine anything worse than a walk at 7am on a cold and frosty Sunday, but now that is my idea of a weekend well spent.
“We tend to visit the Peak District a lot and our favourite walks are Curbar Edge because you get to enjoy the stunning views without the strain of any climb.
“It’s a lovely circular walk if you do the full circuit and even has a dog friendly pub around halfway to stop for a warm up or cool down depending on what time of year we are visiting!
“When we fancy a challenge, we tend to go to Kinder Scout which is a beautiful walk that involves a climb – you are then rewarded with panoramic views over Derbyshire.
“Murphy is full of energy so he never gets tired during our walks which may take two hours or the whole day.
“With my job, I get a lot of time off during the holidays and I used to spend them abroad, but I much prefer trips with Murphy.
“He has made me appreciate the beauty of the UK.
“I love that so many places across the UK are now welcoming dogs which means there really is no excuse for leaving them behind!”
Their first trip was to Windermere, Lake District in June 2018 – the duo have now visited over ten places in the UK such as Fraisthorpe Beach, Yorkshire and London.
Kelly has set up an Instagram account for their adventures called ‘murphy.the.magnificent’ which boasts 25.7k followers.
She adds: “Murphy is a fantastic traveller who knows we are going somewhere good when he gets in the car.
“I wasn’t aware of a lot of places in the UK but now I have learnt how beautiful the countryside is.
“I tend to go on day trips or stay in dog-friendly accommodation, it is great being able to go shopping and sightseeing with Murphy.
“I have met so many likeminded people on our travels and I am fortunate enough to have a photographer as a friend who helps us capture the moment.”
