A young man who lives like a Victorian and claimed that it has helped him become one of England’s most eligible bachelors has finally met the woman of his dreams – and she loves the 1880s too.
Michael Koropisz is a 24-year-old artist from Stockport, Greater Manchester, who lives a very different life to his peers.
Despite being a young man in the 21st century, Michael insists on living in the past by strictly dressing in only Victorian clothes from the 19th century and filling his house with antiques.
And although he sometimes gets odd glances from strangers, Michael claims that his unique sense of style and gentlemanly ways leave him inundated with offers for potential partners as he believes he is one of England’s most eligible bachelor.
Now, Michael has finally taken up one of his offers with potential love interest Charlotte Brindley, a 21-year-old aspiring actress who shares his passion for the past.
Michael said: “I am one of the most eligible bachelors for miles around and have always been inundated with offers.
“When I’ve been looking through my offers, I knew I would need someone like me – a lady who wears a bustle and feathers in her hat, and who could accompany me with her singing as I play the piano late into the evening.
“I base my personality on that of a Victorian man – I am very much a gentleman and always polite and would need a lady who was well mannered also.
“And, as I base everything I do on that of the Victorian era, I would love to have a woman to share this with one day and I believe Charlotte may be that person.”
Michael is now putting his change of finding love first as he embarks on dating with potential love interest, Charlotte.
He said: “She is brilliant – we have so much in common.
“She is an actress and I am a portrait artist, which are both very ‘Victorian’ careers.
“Charlotte is also very beautiful and quite mature for her age, she is very well spoken and a very delicate flower.
“This is a quality I really look for in a young lady.
“She is great company and also adores history.
“We both wear fashion, not only from the same era but from the same decade, the 1880s – very specific!
“I can’t wait for the future of having her in my Victorian home for a game of croquet and afternoon tea.”
Charlotte said: “Michael appears the most eligible bachelor for me – his creative pursuits were most attractive, particularly his portraiture and inclination to music.
“His passion for all things Victorian did appeal to me as it is rare to find someone of a similar age who is interested in such things.
“He is quite the gentleman – it is evident that he is well versed in politeness and respectability; both qualities that make a man desirable to any lady.
“I have never dated a man like Michael who shares my love for the era – it is quite rare to come across someone like him, unless one is to walk past a cemetery!
“It will be interesting to see how our relationship may develop.
“We obviously share many a passion as well as values.
“It has been lovely to meet him and get to know him.
“I do hope we will continue to communicate.”
Despite having only recently started dating Michael, Charlotte claims that she has been a lover of all things Victorian for many years.
She said: “As long as I can remember I have been entranced by the era and have been dressing in the style for many years – I even used to wear it to school!
“I love the extravagance, the elegance, and the excess.
“It was aesthetics over functionality.
“All my friends and family are incredibly supportive of me and always nurtured my love for the past.
“You always get the odd look or comment in town but they are far outweighed by the love and support.”
