This is the shocking moment a frenzied crowd of commuters violently swarmed into a subway car.
Telemarketer Daniel Da Paixao, 26, from Rio de Janeiro, was travelling to work on the morning of October 6, when he witnessed a jaw-dropping scene.
As the subway Daniel was travelling on approached the Alvorada station in the Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood, dozens of commuters began banging on the train’s windows.
They then violently pushed the doors open and swarmed in, almost tripping over one another while desperately trying to secure themselves a sitting spot.
However, Daniel seemed unmoved by the commotion and even a little amused.
Daniel said: “This happens every day of the week, from Monday to Friday.
“People are desperate to get on the bus because there isn’t enough space for everyone.
“Almost every day there is some sort of accident, I’ve seen many people getting injured.”
