A flock of 7000 geese took off simultaneously in an awe-inspiring scene.
Mark Herrmanns was passing through Flachwasserzone Mannhausen, a notorious breeding ground for geese, in his native Germany on the morning of October 13.
But what initially started as a few birds flying off transformed into a giant mass of birds covering the pink sky.
The swirling geese collect before heading off into one direction, over the head of Mark.
Mark said: “I was overwhelmed by the number of birds and the volume they produced.
“I have never seen anything like this before.
“The ‘Flachwasserzone Mannhausen’ is a huge breeding place for many native birds.
“There were other people with me and they were also fascinated.”
