Meet the world’s most charismatic chihuahua who turns heads wherever she goes thanks to her incredible natural markings that look like EYEBROWS.
While you wouldn’t guess it by looking at her now, pampered pooch Jolene didn’t have the best start in life and nearly ended up in an animal shelter after she was rescued from a neglectful home.
But thankfully, the adorable pup, now three, was adopted by her kind owner Jessica Hawkins after the mum-of-two ‘fell in love’ with her at first sight back in December 2016.
The 45-year-old pharmacy technician from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, said she was working the night shift when a customer entered the drive-through of her chemist to fill a prescription.
As she opened the window, Jessica said the little chihuahua’s face popped up to look at her from underneath a blanket – and after spotting her incredible eyebrows, it was love at first sight.
And when the customer, who was an animal rescue volunteer, explained that he was on his way to take the pooch to an animal shelter, Jessica knew she had to adopt her.
Now three years later, Jolene – who was named after one of singer Dolly Parton’s most popular songs – is loving life with her human family and continues to turn heads wherever she goes thanks to her incredible eyebrows.
Jessica, who is mum to Evie, 13, and Annabelle, 10, said: “I was at work late one night, it was three days before Christmas, and I had a gentleman enter the drive-through to fill a prescription.
“When I opened the window to talk to him, I saw this little head pop up out of some blankets in his lap. She was adorable and had the most amazing markings that looked like eyebrows.
“I asked him where he got her, and he told me that he had just rescued her from a really bad situation and was about to take her to an animal shelter.
“She was looking at me, and I just knew it was meant to be. I told him that I’d love to have her, and he handed her to me through the drive-through window.
“It was an incredible coincidence, and it just shows how everything happens for a reason. I was meant to be her mummy.
“She fit into our family perfectly. It was like she was the missing puzzle piece.”
Prior to her adoption, the adorable pup’s name was ‘Maybelline’ because of her amazing eyebrows – but with Jessica’s love of Dolly Parton, the mum decided ‘Jolene’ was more fitting.
She said: “Being from Tennessee, we’re big fans of Dolly Parton, so we named her after the song Jolene.
“She is definitely a southern girl at heart, and people will always start singing ‘Jolene’ to her.
“I think Dolly and Jolene have a lot in common. They both have a flair for the dramatic and they’re both good singers.
“When Jolene starts barking, she can bust out a good tune just like Dolly.”
Jessica said that Jolene’s unique appearance always turns heads and stops people in the street – with many even believing that her natural eyebrows are drawn on.
She said: “Her eyebrows are what makes her extra special, although we’d love her with or without them.
“People often think that I’ve drawn her eyebrows on, which is ridiculous, but they can’t believe that they’re real.
“These are the exact kind of eyebrows that women want these days. They’re thick, beautiful, big eyebrows and totally on trend.
“Everywhere we go, people will stop and stare. They’ll often say ‘Oh my god! Did you see that dog? She has eyebrows!’
“I’ve never seen any other dogs with eyebrows like that. She could be the only one in the world.
“She draws a lot of attention and people definitely always notice her. Jolene just naturally draws people in with her charisma and charm.
“Everyone thinks she is amazing. And Jolene knows she is beautiful and can be a bit of a diva.
“Anyone who meets her just falls in love with her like I did. She has been a blessing for us, she is a very sweet dog and we love her so much.”
