A group of urban explorers played a game of cat and mouse with security guards in an abandoned hangar, narrowly escaping without severe punishment.
Daring urban explorer “shiey”, travelled from his home in Vilnius, Lithuania, to explore the best abandoned locations Ukraine had to offer, with the videographer being taken to an eerie abandoned hangar by a group of friends.
Climbing the rickety steps, the group daringly balanced off beams high above the ground in order to get the best, and most dangerous, angles for their photographs.
Looking down, the explorers could see discarded tools, rusted equipment and even some unused planes.
But then their fun was stopped by the hangar’s stern security team.
Forcing the group to come down, it took a lot of persuasion and luck for shiey to be allowed to walk away without any punishment and with his passport still in his possession.
shiey said: “The hangar was a museum, but now it’s semi-abandoned and used as garage.
“Where I grew up, there was a lot of run-down places. As a kid would spend my time exploring them as didn’t have a lot of friends.
“When we got caught, we felt no fear or stress, only fun.
“One of the security guards tried to take my passport in order make me come with them because I was a foreign citizen and they didn’t like me, but in the end my friends stuck with me and everything got settled without any negative consequences
“We didn’t cause damage and the goal was only to see and take pictures of a place people don’t usually get to see.”
