LOOK at these MAGICAL images that have been unearthed and released for the very first time of a Herring Gull “walking on water.”
The images capture the moment a Herring Gull glides across the water looking as if it is gracefully walking along the water’s surface.
The almost biblical images were snapped by Swedish photographer, Martin Hadmyr, 45, from Helsingborg, Sweden.
They are being seen for the first time after he rediscovered the pictures after looking back at a film reel from 2012 – and after originally dismissing the pictures, at a second look he decided to release them as a photographic set.
Martin said: “I was travelling in a small boat through a Norwegian fjord heading out to photograph White-tailed eagles.
“It was one of those rare days without any wind, the gulls followed the boat and they occasionally landed in the totally still water.
“Suddenly one gull started to walk on the water, and I managed to freeze the moment. A perfect reflection with the bird barely touching water.”
The incredible images are one of a kind, which could have been lost the button was pressed just a millisecond before or after, and even show the
birds perfectly synced reflection as it flies close to the water.
Martin said: “I have been passionate about taking pictures all my life.
“For me nature photography is the ideal mix between enjoying the wonders of nature, being outdoors and creative expression.”
