Cricketers have set their alarms early this morning for an annual summer solstice match.
Sefton Park Cricket Club played their annual summer solstice match at dawn this morning [FRI] in Liverpool.
The club began the tradition in 2010 to mark the 150th anniversary of the club.
The match began at sunrise, at 4.43am this morning, with The Early Risers going in to bat first against The Long Shadows.
The two teams, made up of players from the club, played for around four hours.
A small but dedicated group of supporters cheered on the unique summer celebration as the sun rose around them.
