A dramatic lightning storm filled the night sky above Kansas.
Michael Keyes captured the stunning light show as an electrical storm raged overhead in Topeka on June 15.
Against the pitch-black sky behind, the bolts create a stunning difference as they struck for more than 40 minutes.
Michael said: “It really was an awesome sight.
“A thunderstorm was building south of our house.
“The lightning was presumed to be within the thundercloud as most strikes did not seem directed to the surface.
“The lightning was visible from our house for a total of 30-40 minutes.
“We have never seen that much visible lightning activity in such a concentrated area before.”
