Heartwarming footage has emerged of a pair of elephants taking a dip and drinking together in a pool in Thailand.
The video, filmed at the Samui Elephant Sanctuary in Koh Samui, shows the two elephants – named Kham San and Kham Pang – enjoying each other’s company and generally behaving adorably in the swimming pool.
According to filmer Ryan Emmerson, Kham San was rescued in 2017 and Kham Pang was rescued in the middle of last year, and they’ve since become “inseparable best friends.”
Ryan said: “Elephants love to bathe alone or with other elephants.
“To do this, they need space to splash, roll around, submerge, and cover themselves in lovely thick mud.”
“If people are in the water crowding around the elephants, it is not only stressful for the elephants but also prohibits natural behaviours,” she added.
