This woman woke up in the early hours fearing that an intruder had broken into her home and was met with the shock of her LIFE when it turned out to be a giant 11ft ALLIGATOR.
Worry stricken pensioner, Mary Wischhusen, 77, from Clearwater, Florida, woke up around 3am after hearing a loud crash in her kitchen downstairs.
When trotting down to see what was happening, she noticed the beast had smashed its way through the window and trampled through a wine collection and kitchen table.
After calling Clearwater Police Department, she retreated to another room and patiently waited for emergency services to arrive. It took ten police officers, 2 hours and 2 animal Trappers to secure the beast and secure the property.
Mary Wischhusen said: “The vision I have is a big head looking at me saying, ‘Hey!’.
“I don’t know why he wanted my red wine, but he certainly got my red wine.”
Clearwater Police Department communications officer, Joelle Castelli, said: “It’s not normal for an alligator to break in like this so it was a dangerous situation.
“It was hissing in an angry manner, we arrived with an animal trapper who secured the animal and took it away.
“It was first spotted acting aggressively in the street by a newspaper seller who was had spotted it whilst on their rounds.
“The homeowner then phoned because she thought there was an intruder.
Mary says she played computer games while waiting for help to arrive.
Local police tweeted footage of the raging reptile, saying: “The red liquid in the video is wine, not blood.”
Luckily in this instance, the animal trapper successfully managed to safely secure the alligator by taping its mouth shut.
It was taken away and will be released back into the wild where they usually stay.
